Chenggang Wu

I recently finished my Ph.D. from the RISE Lab at U.C. Berkeley, where I worked with Prof. Joe Hellerstein and Prof. Joseph Gonzalez. My research interests lie in data-centric systems and distributed systems. I led the development of an ultra-fast, flexibly consistent, autoscaling and cost-effective key-value store Anna, and subsequently built the next-generation serverless computing platform, Cloudburst, using Anna as the storage backplane. I am also interested in applying machine learning techniques to database problems. My Ph.D. dissertation won the 2022 SIGMOD Jim Gray Doctoral Dissertation Award.

Prior to U.C. Berkeley, I obtained my B.S. degree with honors in Computer Science from Brown University, where I worked with Prof. Stan Zdonik and Prof. Tim Kraska.
